Prinnie is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most sought after performers – an incredible singer, dancer, songwriter and presenter, who’s career is going from strength to strength.
She burst on to the scene at 17, performing in the Australian premiere of Rent:The Muscial. From there she was in constant demand, performing in musical theatre in shows such as Leader Of The Pack and Footloose. It was her Helpmann nominated performance in Oh, What A Night! that took her to the next level – she was asked to move to New York and front an all-girl group for Sony Music. Whilst in New York, Prinnie learned her craft as a recording artist. She worked with Dallas Austin,Lashawn Daniels and the legendary Rodney Jerkins. She performed alongside Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Mary J Blige and John Legend.
Despite this success, Australia kept calling and Prinnie returned to her homeland. Prinnie chose to step out and try something new. She auditioned for the TV program, The Voice. She could not have imagined the success of the show nor the opportunities that would arise having made the top 4 in Team Joel. Not only did she stop a nation with her performances, she found a place in Australia’s heart, even being named the Australian Beyonce.
Since The Voice, Prinnie has had continued success. She teamed up with Mahalia Barnes to release an album of soulful duets. Prinnie + Mahalia: Come Together debuted at Number 1 on the R&B/Soul charts in October through Universal Music. After their unforgettable Battle, they have had continued success together and individually. Prinnie released her own collection of nail lacquers in 2012, the result of her collaboration with internationally acclaimed Australian brand Hello Darling.
In 2013 Prinnie was added to the cast of Celebrity Apprentice where she was able to represent MMAD, a charity she has worked with for over 5 years. MMAD assists young Australians to fight the battle of life through the inspiration of music and the use on mentorship. Prinnie also joined Universal Music in 2013 as a Solo Artist and released single “Don’t wake me up”. The song was no1 added across the board to Australian radio and continued to have much success.
Earlier this year, Prinnie landed the exciting role of Co Host on The Voice Kids Australia where she showed Australia her soft side and nurtured the artists back stage. Shortly after the success of the Voice Kids Prinnie released EP “One night” that debuted at #13.
Prinnie is so excited to be making a return to musical theatre this year in the Michael Jackson HIT musical “Thriller”. Prinnie continues to go from strength to strength. Her ability to go from Tv to the recording studio and back to the musical theatre stage cements the fact that she is one of Australia’s most exciting artists.
